Duke's has a reputation for long waits. Their online reservation system said nothing was available for 2.5 hours (a request for a Friday noon table made at 11:30). But I decided to try anyway. The place was half empty, and I was seated virtually immediately, at a four-person table, although I was alone. The Korean steak tacos were fine and reasonably priced for Waikiki. However, some of the listed ingredients (salsa Verde, cilantro) made no impression on my palate. Service was also OK. Although the restaurant is noted for ocean view, I found the guard railing to be exactly at eye level when I was seated. Tall people can watch the surfers...

Was recommended Dukes Waikiki for breakfast from my hotel staff. They offer a breakfast buffet for only $18.00. Everything I ate was delicious. They have made to order omelettes, chicken sausage links, Portuguese sausage, potatoes with vegetables, french toast, pancakes, oatmeal, fried rice and a spread of fresh fruit. I ate her 3 times while I was here and was never disappointed. The best part to me was the coconut syrup for the french toast. Delicious!

Fantastic service (and patience) from our server. Not knowing the types of fish on the menu, they explained them very clearly for us. We had 3 of the 4 dishes and they were all amazing. The salad bar is also nothing to be scoffed at and highly recommended.

If you ever stop here be prepared to spend, Duke's is a high end restaurant with amazing food and positive staff. I had the ribs when I went and they were very good, covered in a BBQ sauce mixed with some mango. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very welcoming and if I could I would go back again. Do note that the restaurant usually if not always takes reservations only.

Good place for a drink or a casual meal. They offer a breakfast buffet for $18 with $5 mimosas. Or lunch buffet for same price but mimosas are full price. Breakfast buffet was much better than lunch. It felt like more variety to choose from. Or service every time was outstanding.

First time in Hawaii and to Duke's. The staff was friendly and helpful. We had the buffet, which was lack luster at best. We did have the fabulous Hula Pie, which we enjoyed. We ordered coffee with our pie, but never received it. By the time our waiter came back to our table to ask how we were doing, we were nearly done with our pie, so we saw no need to ask for it again.

Our table was outside with perfect ocean views. Our server, FANTASTIC and so enthusiastic. She was spot on with our order and was really conscious of our food allergies. She made sure the kitchen and staff were aware and our food tasted great. I ordered a Burger with the infamous BBQ sauce, the portion size was perfect and cooked just right. We were able to substitute fries for salad. They offered a gluten free bun which was fluffy and warm! Our guests enjoyed some vegetarian items as well, such as the hummus and salads. I definitely recommend this restaurant for those suffering from food allergies and looking for a place to eat while traveling this great city! If you don't have allergies, I recommend the buffets here. They have a great variety of items for all to enjoy.

This is a legendary restaurant in Waikiki known for their fish selections. The service was great and the food was even better. They did have vegan/vegetarian options as well. The ice cream cake dessert was to die for and the evening sunset overlooking the beach was a great surprise. Prices were less than mediocre meals at the nearby resort restaurants. Call at least a week ahead to get a reservation on the time and date you need- otherwise you'll have to dine early or late.

Breakfast buffet was fantastic. Not a huge selection but it is good quality food. Dinner salad bar also good. Service at front desk could be improved. Girls appeared a little unpleasant when approached about wait times. There was a drink server who was fantastic. I wish I got her name. She is a real value to your team.

The food at Duke's was amazing! I was initially a little skeptical because of the price, but honestly it was completely worth it. The staff was amazing, and our server Clint was knowledgeable, helpful, and all-around Wonderful. Probably the best food I've had, maybe ever, definitely while on vacation in Honolulu.

We had a nice ocean view table for 5 people for lunch. We decided to have the lunch buffet even though we usually don't prefer that at a nice restaurant. We did it because we wanted to try different items. All buffet times were very good and fresh. We thought the salads were very good and not the typical buffet salads. We had drinks that were also very good but very expensive. Our server was also very friendly.

This place is crazy busy but worth the wait. We visited twice while vacationing in HI. Once as a family with a reservation and once as a couple with no reservation. There really isn't a bad table in this restaurant. The table we had as a family faced the ocean and the deuce was in a small quiet dining area. The food was great, the wine list quality and accessible and the martinis nice and chill. The local fish was delicious, tender and flaky.

Absolutely amazing breakfast!!! The staff are amazing, the food is so nice, the view is stunning. Make your own omelette or try the Banana pancakes they are to die for. I love the ribs, the chicken, and I rarely EVER drink, but if you have a chance to experience their MaiTai, it is SO MUCH BETTER than any you'll find at a luau. If you're in Waikiki I would still highly recommend you do the Dukes Buffet Breakfast!

The buffet at Dukes is fresh and fantastic. We have come here several times over the years and will keep coming back. The prime rib was perfectly cooked to my request. The atmosphere is classic Waikiki, the staff is extremely friendly and courteous and the live music drifting from table to table was a nice touch.

Excellent breakfast buffet, only $18. Coffee, water and/or tea included in price. Additional beverages available for purchase. Host was extremely welcoming and struck a conversation after calling our party. Wait time was no more than 10 minutes. Scrambled eggs are savory and cooked the way they should be, not like the hard rubber-like eggs served elsewhere. Omelets made to order. Lots of fruit, yogurt, and cereal choices. Fried rice and white rice available. Definitely planning to visit the Huntington Beach location in the near future.

Dukes Waikiki is a fascinating combination of a absolutely beautiful view of the beach and ocean of Waikiki housed in a surfer themed restaurant that delivers average food and at beyond tourist prices. On this visit to Dukes we both visited the breakfast buffet that Dukes is so well known for. The fresh cooked omelette was created with container eggs, at best average cubes of ham and the highlight, Boers Head cheese. The eggs Benedict were poorly assembled and appeared to be dried out topped with what was said to be hollandaise sauce. There was no courage at the table to try them. The french toast however was quite tasty and enjoyed by all. 2 people for their breakfast buffet and tip was over $45.00.

Whether here in Waikiki or at home in Huntington Beach, you can never go wrong with Duke's. Always great food deliciously prepared. Excellent quality fish and other options for those wanting something else. Lunch is easy and has a more middle road menu (but just as delicious) - dinner is a little more fine dining and here in Waikiki gets REALLY busy. Either have reservations or plan on waiting 1-2 hours! I had fish and chips today and it was awesome!

I love the Hula Pie. Also a great history behind it. Decent menu but a bit over priced at times and i wish they had more chicken. Great atmosphere, nice place and nice staff. Highly recommend.

Great views, tasty food... As silly as it sounds the best thing I had here was their Caesar salad; by far the best salad I've had in my life. I ate here 2 times on my vacation, the first was not great. Went for dinner and the service was slow and not super friendly. Went the next day for lunch and the waitress was much better and they had all you can eat buffet for $20/each.

Everything was really good I had the sautéed Mac and butter on the fish of the day. Also added the salad bar, that is pretty cool lots of delicious salads and make your own as well. Was pretty busy but lots of area to sit and have a drink while you wait. Staff super friendly, facility is clean. Some drinks are little pricey but why not spend a little and enjoy. I would recommend this place to people and would definitely come back.

Definitely a hot spot on the beach. I made our reservation two months in advance, definitely recommend doing so! They start seating for dinner at 4:45. We got a prime seat right at the front to enjoy the view & live music. Not recommended for kids. Our food was very good & our server was friendly.

Blown away by how amazing this place is. It has the stereotypical Hawaii vibe you deserve when you visit the island. Beautiful view, well done atmosphere, friendly staff...the list goes on. Every meal we ate was top notch, and their salad bar is probably the nicest one I've ever had. Everyone who visits Oahu needs to check out Dukes

Absolutely love this restaurant in Waikiki, located right on the beach. You literally walk down the stairs of the restaurant and you're on the beach! If you sit on the lanai of the restaurant you can watch the waves coming into shore and surfers catching waves out in the water. The brunch at Duke's is absolutely fantastic. There is such a wide selection of fruits, sausage, bacon, pancakes, toast, etc. And I believe the best part is being able to get omelettes made-to-order right in front of you! I wish that you could still get juice included with the price of brunch, because that made the experience all the more better. My experiences at this restaurant have mostly been with brunch, so there's not much else I can speak to... but yeah, definitely recommend coming here for brunch! Book a spot in advance, and on the lanai! You will love it!

As a first timer I tried the lunch buffet and it was delicious!! Different kinds of salads, chicken, fish, pork. It was all good. So much flavor. There was nothing I ate that I didn’t like. I only wish soy sauce was added at the poke bar. Our server Matt was super nice and prompt!

The wait (in the bar) w/no reservations at 6pm was only a 1/2 hr. Appetizers & food were fabulous. Wait staff were attentive & very efficient. We were treated w/ a tableside Hawaiian serenade. Hula pie for desert is a must.

Dukes Waikiki is a must visit when you’re visiting Waikiki beach! My favourite cocktail is the Lava Flow which is a creamy strawberry, coconut and pineapple drink. It gets very busy at the barefoot bar, so get there before 11am to grab a seat. They serve some nice small plates, called pupus. It’s a nice relaxed atmosphere and staff are very attentive. You can also book a table at the restaurant next door.

Definitely not kid friendly. To be fair, we visited on a busy Saturday night so that may have played a factor. We waited an hour and a half to be seated, which I understood because it is a popular busy restaurant on the beach in Waikiki. The waitresses and waiters were all very nice, but once seated we waited another hour and a half and my chicken was pink. I imagine the cooks were rushed and food was being rushed also, but I do expect my chicken to be thoroughly cooked. We spent around $200 for a family of 4, waited three hours in total and ended up with improperly cooked chicken.

Amazing food. More than impressed. Forgot to tell staff i have a macadamia allergy, and had a bit of a reaction (food that didn’t say it had macadamia), probably due to cross contamination. but that was my bad. Amazing service too, the staff knows the menu very well :)

Very nice place to eat. We had lunch. Tori enjoyed the buffet with fish and teriyaki chicken with a salad. I enjoyed some Korean Beef Tacos with a cocktail. Staff was very welcoming and even brought Tori a complimentary cake to celebrate her birthday. We recommend.

Atmosphere was excellent, as was the service. I was offered drinks for purchase in the waiting area. After seating, the waiter offered detailed detailed descriptions and recommendations. We ordered apps: the poke and calamari, both delicious, the calamari especially. For dinner, I ordered the crusted local Hawaiian fish, along with the salad bar. Don't bother with the salad bar unless you're really hungry... save room for drinks and conversation!

Every time the family and I visit Oahu and Waikiki, we make it a point to visit Dukes. The location is great and the staff make the atmosphere exciting and fun. The menu is pretty simple and their buffet is delicious with a large variety of options to pick from. If there is any cons with Dukes it would have to be the price of the food, but the way I see it is the rich history of the man and the great experience outweigh the cost. Overall, this is a must see spot in Waikiki.

Surprisingly delicious and you can't hate the view.Several items off the menu became our favorite version including the chowder and calamari.Tuna was really good and sliced very nice for raw tuna which is tricky.Great drinks too. Mai Tai was a bit unique in a good way

Right on the beach! We sat in the bar area so we could seat ourselves.. loud but it is that kind of environment. Food was good though, fries were kinda cold. But still good flavor. A bit pricey. But it's Waikiki I would give 4.5 stars. The coke tasted weird.

Took at a party of 15 to Duke’s and the experience did not disappoint! Fresh fish dishes were the highlight, but steaks and ribs also quite good. Salad bar add-on exceeded expectations. If you don’t have a reservation call them as they took us as a walk in at 4:45 when they first opened and seated us 1st seating at 5:30. The bar lanai area also has killer beachfront views but our dining area didn’t have a view.

Duke's was amazing! The drinks were on point and the food was delicious. I ordered the Duke's Bake which was a delicious fish dish with black rice. I e never had black rice before. It went very well with the fish. We asked for a certain table/view and they accommodated us. They honored our reservation time even though we added two more people to a party of 3. Although they were extremely busy, our food was served in record time and we even were serenaded by some wonderful Hawaiian musicians. Our server was amazing, she didn't write down a thing and kept checking in with us to make sure we were good and had everything we needed.

OH FOR ALL YOU DESSERT LOVERS THIS IS TO DIE FOR YUMMMMM Should have ordered 2 for 6 people not 1 :) Evening was lovely we were sat inside restaurant not on the sand like we had hoped to watch the sunset but still ok.

Questions & Answers

It's Waikiki, and one of the most touristy restaurants: count on spending $30 a person.

Not really. It's located inside the mall. You can park across the street at Ross for really cheap

Try calling them

Think it's from 3 to 6?

If you are looking to have breakfast as well you can ask to be seated in the bar where the TV`s are located. They only have the seating at the tables if you're eating the buffet btw. Or if you just want to watch the game and have drinks, they allow you to sit at the bar stools and order drinks from the bartenders and you can watch on the TV `S there. There is limited bar seating though.

no, you have to park at the mall structure

Yes, but obviously not for the buffet.
